CHALLENGE: The Owners of the historic landmark home wanted to gain some additional space in their kitchen area for their children. An adjoining garage was not being used except for storage.
SOLUTION: It was decided to convert the existing garage into a family room and remove the wall between this new area and the existing kitchen area. Wood paneling from the old garage walls was salvaged and reused on the family room. Millwork was duplicated to match other areas of the home. The existing garage doors were incorporated into the design since they were a major feature of the historic home. The resulting room did not alter the exterior of the home and stayed with the period of the historic structure. If you have questions or need information, call Bright Works today at (503) 697-7724.
